Vinkki: Neulo mallitilkku ja viimeistele se kuten valmis neule tullaan viimeistelemään. Mikäli saat liikaa silmukoita per 10 cm, vaihda paksumpiin puikkoihin. Jos saat liian vähän silmukoita per 10 cm, vaihda ohuempiin puikkoihin.

Tarvitset

– Silmukkamerkkejä (Voit myös käyttää langanpätkiä, tölkkiklipsuja yms.)

– Kanavaneulan

– Virkkuukoukun

– Puikkostoppareista voi olla hyötyä kaulusta neuloessa (esim. skumppapullon korkit)

– Eri väristä lankaa noin pari metriä apulangaksi (suosittelen valitsemaan suurin piirtein saman vahvuista mutta sileämpää lankaa, etteivät langat takertuisi niin paljoa toisiinsa)

Työohje

Työ neulotaan ylhäältä alas. Ensin luodaan kauluksen silmukat väliaikaisella aloituksella. Kaksinkertainen kaulus neulotaan suljettuna neuleena. Takakappale neulotaan kaulukselta tasona ja samalla lisätään kumpaankin reunaan (olkaan) silmukoita. Molemman olan reunasta poimitaan silmukat etukappaleita varten. Etukappaleen alussa neulotaan lyhennettyjä kerroksia olalle ja olat yhdistetään kaulukseen neulomalla. Kädenteiden jälkeen työ yhdistetään suljetuksi neuleeksi ja helmassa taas erotetaan tasoksi. Lopuksi kädenteiltä poimitaan silmukat neuloen puikoille ja hihat neulotaan suljettuna neuleena ylhäältä alas.

The sizes aren’t standard. Please check the measures for the appropriate size. The measurements are the measurements of the finished sweater. The sweater is intended to have 12-16 cm of positive ease. Measure your bust circumference and choose a size that is approx. that much bigger. Or if you want more/less ease, choose the size accordingly.

Gauge

10 x 10 cm: 24 sts and 25 rows in knit 1, purl 1 rib

10 x 10 cm: 18 sts and 25 rnds in stockinette stitch

Tip: Knit a swatch and give it a finishing treatment like you would for the finished sweater. If you’re getting too many sts per 10 cm, switch to a bigger needle size. If you’re getting too few sts per 10 cm, switch to a smaller needle.

You will also need

– Stitch markers (You can also use yarn scraps, can tabs etc.)

– A tapestry needle

– A crochet hook

– Needle stoppers may be helpful when working the neckline (for example wine corks)

– A couple of meters of a contrasting colour scrap yarn (I recommend choosing a similar weight but a sleeker yarn, so the yarns don’t stick to each other as much)

Instructions

The piece is worked top down. You will begin by casting on the neckline stitches provisionally. The double folded collar is worked in the round. The back is worked flat from the neckline down and stitches are increased on both edges (for shoulders). Front stitches are picked up from both shoulders. The fronts are shaped with short rows and attached to the collar by knitting. The body is then joined in the round at the underarms and then worked flat again at the hem. Finally, stitches are picked up from the armholes and sleeves are worked in the round top down.
