Neuletiheys

Huomioi, että kerroksia laskettaessa yksi näkyvä oikea silmukka lasketaan kahdeksi kerrokseksi puolipatenttineuleessa.

Vinkki: Neulo mallitilkku ja viimeistele se kuten valmis neule tullaan viimeistelemään.

Mikäli saat liikaa silmukoita per 10 cm, vaihda paksumpiin puikkoihin. Ja jos liian vähän, vaihda ohuempiin puikkoihin.

Tarvitset

Silmukkamerkin, kanavaneulan ja pari noin 40 cm pituista langanpätkää silmukoiden pidikkeeksi. Virkkuukoukku voi olla avuksi silmukoiden poimimisessa.

Työohje

Työ neulotaan ylhäältä alas. Ensin luodaan poolokauluksen silmukat italialaisella aloituksella. Poolokaulus neulotaan suljettuna neuleena. Takakappale jatkuu kaulukselta tasona ja samalla lisätään olkiin silmukoita. Takakappaleen olkasaumasta poimitaan neuloen silmukat molempaa olkaa varten. Alussa neulotaan lyhennettyjä kerroksia ja olat yhdistetään poolokaulukseen neulomalla. Työn edetessä olat yhdistyvät etukappaleeksi.

Gauge

10×10 cm: 22 sts and 40 rows in half fisherman’s rib stitch.

Note: When counting rows, one visible knit stitch counts as two rows in half fisherman’s rib.

10×10 cm: 32 sts and 28 rows in 1×1 rib.

Tip: Knit a swatch and finish it the same way the final garment will be finished.

If you get too many stitches per 10 cm, switch to thicker needles; if too few, switch to thinner needles.

Needles

4.5 mm circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge) in 40 and 80 cm lengths.

You will need

A stitch marker, a tapestry needle, and a couple of strands of yarn approx. 40 cm long for holding stitches. A crochet hook may help when picking up stitches.

Instructions

The piece is knitted from top to bottom. First, cast on stitches for the turtleneck using an Italian tubular cast-on. The collar is knitted in the round. The back continues from the collar worked flat, while stitches are increased for the shoulders. Stitches are picked up along the back shoulder seam for each shoulder. Short rows are worked, and the shoulders are joined to the turtleneck by knitting. As you continue, the shoulders join to form the front.
