Neuletiheys

10 x 10 cm: 21 silmukkaa ja 28 krs sileää neuletta

Vinkki: Neulo mallitilkku ja viimeistele se kuten valmis neule tullaan viimeistelemään. Mikäli saat liikaa silmukoita per 10 cm, vaihda paksumpiin puikkoihin. Jos saat liian vähän silmukoita per 10 cm, vaihda ohuempiin puikkoihin.

Käsiala saattaa vaatia hyvinkin pieniä puikkoja puuvillalangalla neulottaessa. Ole siis tarkkana, jotta saat neuletiheyden ohjeistuksen mukaiseksi.

Työohje

Työ neulotaan ylhäältä alas. Ensin luodaan niskan silmukat ja neulotaan takakappaletta tasona samalla, kun lisätään olkiin silmukoita. Molemman olan reunasta poimitaan silmukat etukappaleita varten ja kädenteiden jälkeen työ yhdistetään suljetuksi neuleeksi. Kädenteiltä poimitaan silmukat hihoja varten ja hihat neulotaan suljettuna neuleena ylhäältä alas. Olkapäille tehdään lyhyitä kerroksia istuvuuden parantamiseksi. Pääntieltä poimitaan silmukat ja reunus neulotaan onteloneuleena samoin kuin helma sekä hihansuut.

The sizes aren’t standard. Please check the measures for the appropriate sweater size. The measurements are the measurements of the finished sweater. The design is intended to be worn with approx. 20 cm of positive ease, so measure your bust circumference and choose a size that is approx. 20 cm bigger. Or if you want more / less ease, choose the size accordingly.

Needles

Circular needle 3 and 4 mm 80 cm (or as needed to obtain gauge) for bigger sizes: needle length 120/150 cm

Double pointed needles 3 and 4 mm (or as needed to obtain gauge)

(If you don’t use the Magic loop- technique, you will need to use 40-60 cm 3 mm circular needle for the neckline)

You will need

– Stitch markers and a darning needle. A crochet hook may help with picking up sts.

– A couple of meters of a contrast colour yarn for holding stitches

Gauge

10 x 10 cm: 21 sts and 28 rows in stockinette stitch

Tip: Work a gauge swatch and finish it like you would treat the finished piece.

If you’re getting too many sts per 10 cm, switch to a bigger needle size. If you’re getting too few sts per 10 cm, switch to a smaller needle.

Getting the correct tension may require surprisingly small needles when working with cotton yarn. Pay attention to matching the gauge given in the pattern.

Instructions

The sweater is knit top-down. First, stitches are cast on for the neck and the back is knit flat while increasing stitches for the shoulders. Front stitches are picked up from each shoulder and the work is joined in the round below the armholes.

Sleeve stitches are picked up from the armholes and the sleeves are knit in the round top-down. Short rows are worked for the shoulders to improve fit. Stitches are picked up from the neckline and the edging is worked in double knitting, as with the hem and sleeve cuffs.
